We partner with organizations throughout Central Indiana who offer adult basic education training and occupational skills trainings. You can further your education through English Language Learning (ELL) courses or through High School Equivalency (HSE) courses offered for free by local providers or go into occupational skills training and take one of the many Next Level Job training courses listed below.

Indy Reads Community Classrooms provide the full range of adult education – learning how to read, to speak English, getting your High School Equivalency (GED), or getting a job – to adults at all skill levels in Marion County. We will work with you to create a learning plan that fits your needs. You'll have the support of instructors, tutors, and AmeriCorps members as you complete individualized lessons. Classes are held online 6 hours per week.

Since 2010, The Excel Center® has helped thousands of graduates increase their earning potential with a free Indiana Core 40 high school diploma. Operated by Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana, The Excel Center provides support services such as on-site child care, transportation assistance, and college credit and industry-recognized certification courses – all at no cost.

MSD of Warren Township's Adult Education is a learning program to help adults refresh and improve academic skills needed to prepare to pass the High School Equivalency, prepare for college, enroll in career training, help children with homework, or review content before entering the workforce. Classes are FREE of charge and are offered at multiple locations and times. Warren Township Adult Education now offers classes at WorkOne Indy located on Shadeland Avenue in Indianapolis.

Washington Township is a full-fledged adult education program. We serve ELL and ABE students. Our program is an official TASC/HSE testing site. We offer career training classes and life coaching to assist and aid in students reaching their goals. We help students with citizenship classes and partner with businesses to serve the public demand for jobs and educational credentials.

The adult education grant provides the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis an opportunity to scale its workforce development program, Project Connect, throughout Marion County. As a new provider, the Y seeks to provide high quality adult education opportunities for young adults and adults in our communities that need our support. Project Connect, the Y’s adult education program, targets adults 18 years or older who are unemployed or under-employed.

In 2015, Martin University launched its ability to benefit (ATB) program where persons without a high school diploma or equivalent can enroll in 1 of 3 career pathways: bookkeeping, early childhood education, or Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS). Each program is 60 credit hours long, providing students with foundational skills in writing, math, computer literacy, and college success. Students earning a high school degree while in the program may transfer credits towards a Martin bachelor’s degree.
